Eighty-five grants will be awarded for a total of $100,000 to eligible Petfinder.com members. Final prizes will go to the eligible Petfinder.com organization with the highest accumulative votes for the duration of the Challenge as specified in the rules.

Voting begins on January 18th, 2010, and ends at midnight (PST) on April 18th, 2010. The more friends you can rally to vote for PAAW, the better our chances of winning. National Adoption Weekend
February 12 – 14, 2010
PetSmart Charities, Hill’s® Science Diet® brand and PetSmart® present the Second Change for Love National Adoption Weekend. The three-day sponsored adoption event takes place Friday-Sunday, February 12 – 14, 2010, in all PetSmart® stores. The goal is to find homes for more than 16,000 pets in need.

All 21 dogs are in VERY bad shape. PAAW decided to rescue 5 Dachshunds and one Chihuahua from the group of 21.

There are 4 female daschunds and 1 male daschund. All have severe health issues – ranging from tumors to hip problems from being continously kept in small cages with very little medical care.

The Chihuahua has a crippled hind leg and is also pregnant. After she births her babies the leg will likely have to be amputated.

ALL dogs are Heartworm positive and will need to be spayed or neutered. And all of them need through dental care.

With this being so close to the holiday season, we are asking people to open their hearts and help us help these dogs who deserve a much better life than the one they have known. PetSmart Charities® Hosts Holiday National Adoption Event in all U.S. PetSmart® Stores Event goal is lifelong, loving homes for 15,800 pets

(Phoenix) – PetSmart Charities invites you to bring a pet home for the holidays during the Holiday National Adoption Event this November 13-15. Purina® Pro Plan®, Tidy Cats® and PetSmart® are the proud sponsors of this adoption event, which will be held in all 1,082 PetSmart® stores in the United States.

More than 2,000 animal-welfare agencies throughout the United States are expected to participate and will be presenting adoptable pets at every PetSmart Charities in-store adoption center. The event will take place Friday, November 13 through Sunday, November 15, 2009 with a goal of finding homes for 15,800 dogs, cats and small animals.

Not only will prospective pet parents get a new family member during this event, but they will also receive free samples from Purina Pro Plan, Tidy Cats and PetSmart®.

ABOUT THE HOLIDAY NATIONAL ADOPTION WEEKEND
Prospective adopters are encouraged to visit the PetSmart Charities’ Adoption Center inside any PetSmart® store in the U.S. from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, November 13 and Saturday, November 14; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 15. Adoptions are handled by participating animal-welfare groups.
