We were very lucky again – on Friday we got the okay for our 2 old Ladies. Zadie (pictured on right)  & Isabelle  (pictured on left) are two senior Scottish Folds that got accepted at “Best Friends Animal Sanctuary” http://www.bestfriends.org/ in Kanab, Utah.

 This will be their retirement home or maybe just a start into a new life. Who knows – maybe the right family is just waiting for them there. And it’s also one of the best places for animals that otherwise have no or a very little chance of finding a permanent and loving home.

But there is always a BUT. We need 2 tickets for the cats from Lafayette to Las Vegas and also 2 tickets for the caregiver that will bring them. We also need a rental car and accommodation in Kanab. Since adoptions and donations are at a long time low we really could use some help.
All donations are tax-deductable. And you would do those 2 a huge favor.

Zadie & Isabelle’s previous owner was unable to care for them any more so they and 4 others were surrendered to different rescue organizations. They are pure bred Scottish Folds, as indicated by the “folded” ears, and this is a rare breed in the SW Louisiana area. We don’t exactly know how old they’re but they’re definitely seniors. They are related but we have no idea how. Both cats are living in foster care since end of 2006. They once were adopted out together but returned since they are a bit shy. We would love to find a place for them together where they can spend the rest of their lives in a quiet environment either in a new home or a sanctuary place.

All volunteers & friends of PAAW would be very thankful if we could get some support to help Zadie and Isabelle to go to Best Friends.

All 21 dogs are in VERY bad shape. PAAW decided to rescue 5 Dachshunds and one Chihuahua from the group of 21.

There are 4 female daschunds and 1 male daschund. All have severe health issues – ranging from tumors to hip problems from being continously kept in small cages with very little medical care.

The Chihuahua has a crippled hind leg and is also pregnant. After she births her babies the leg will likely have to be amputated.

ALL dogs are Heartworm positive and will need to be spayed or neutered. And all of them need through dental care.

With this being so close to the holiday season, we are asking people to open their hearts and help us help these dogs who deserve a much better life than the one they have known. Please consider making a donation towards their medical expenses and care so that they can heal and have a chance to know a better life.
